How Much I "Work"

I'm not a super liberal person or anything. I generally favor capitalism over other economic systems. However, I do believe that most workplaces are out to exploit and abuse their employees and that people, in general, are way over-worked.
The reason that I feel that way is based on my own personal experience. When I lived in Kentucky I worked two different full-time jobs (not at the same time). The first one was an evening shift and I got off work at about 8 or 9 every night. I am not a morning person, so I never got anything done before I had to go into work and then by the time I got off in the evenings there was nothing to do because everything was closed and I was too drained anyway.
Then I quit that job and got another job where I got off work at 4:30 or 5:30 each day. At first, it was so much better. I was able to go to church on Wednesdays nights again and I was able to go other places after work. But I quickly started feeling way too tired to do anything after work again. So even though there were daylight hours available to me, I still didn't do anything because I just didn't feel like it. Even the weekends were just spent vegging out.
Then I moved to Texas and was unemployed for forever. I did tons of creative stuff and started my youtube channel and it was cool at first. But I felt depressed about the fact that I wasn't making any money. But I had so much fun doing creative stuff and I was doing a much better job of taking care of my house, so I didn't want to go back to working full time. I ended up finding a decent part time job. I work 6 hours a day, 4 days a week. That has made a huge difference. I partake of my hobbies and I still make money! I wish I made more money, though. But like... you can't make more money unless you work more, but if you work more you won't have the energy for your hobbies. It's a trap.
I don't really know what the point of this blog post really is... Because what is the solution? Like I said, most workplaces are out to exploit their workers, so I don't think any employer is going to give their workers a living for just 24 hours a week. But wouldn't it be great if they could?
